Born in 1982 in Dallas County, Texas, Gina Carano is one smoking hot bad-ass. She has a kickboxing record of 12-1 and a professional MMA record of 8-1. She is credited to being the "Face of Women's MMA".

Gina Carano's father played for the Dallas Cowboys as a second string quarterback and for the Pittsburgh Maulers. Athleticism runs in her blood. In high school she played basketball, volleyball, and softball. She graduated college with a degree in psychology.

Carano began her MMA career in Muay Thai. She was offered a fight in the very first sanctioned female MMA fight for the World Pro Fighting Show in Las Vegas. Unfortunately, the fight was canceled by EliteXC and won by submission against Tonya Evinger. She then defeated Kaitlin Young. She won against her next opponent, Kelly Kobold via unanimous decision.

EliteXC was no longer a promotion, so Strikeforce picked up several former fighters, including Carano. In 2009 Strikeforce created the first ever women's championship and it would feature Gina Carano versus Cyborg Santos. Carano fought her heart out, but succumbed to Santos' fierce power and lost the title in the first round.

Gina also has a very busy life outside of the ring. She starred in Ring Girls and appeared in the reality show Fight Girls. She also was the Gladiator Crush on the new version of American Gladiators. She appeared in a workout video released by the show as well. You can also see her in the movie Blood and Bone.

Carano was voted the Hottest Woman in America by Big Biz Magazine in 2008, and made #16 on Maxim Magazine's Hot 100 of 2009.

She really is an inspiration. I like how she proves that women aren't just for looks. She's both beautiful and powerful. A wonderful role model for little girls, I think. Thanks for stopping by chrissie. : )
